What format is your file? if it’s avi then there is a chance of something going wrong. the best files that usually always work are mov or m4v

I just followed your instructions (which were very helpful) and after waiting four hours I inserted the DVD into another player and the menu looked great but when I played the movie all I got was audio….what did I do wrong?

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

m4v is good but i think mov is better.

i tried to download xilisoft but for some reason that didnt work either…does it need to be a certain file type? the file is an m4v

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

yea for imovie the limit is about 1 hour and 50 mins. but if you check out my part 2, the software to burn movies has a greater limit

  • Posted by sabbathndeth18 On February 11, 2010

Is there a limit on how long of a movie you can burn? i know the dvds themselves have a limit but the movie im trying to burn is just under 2 hours…when i clicked Professional quality, the meter for capacity didn’t go down at all…is the movie too long?

What if it says while burn menu comes up “Error Encoding Movie” then it just shuts down the burning process.

when i put the movie in handbrake, it only allows output of mp4 or mkv. i’m just trying to take an avi file or what ever and put it in iDVD and get audio as well as the video. are either of those two options correct?

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

yea you can use that to convert the movie to .mov and it is really easy to use.

  • Posted by sentis777 On February 11, 2010

well it’s downloaded in .avi i read that “handbrake” is something i should use before ripping a movie? should i use that to convert to .mov and then burn. is that easy to do?

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

wat format is the movie. the best format to have is .mov

  • Posted by sentis777 On February 11, 2010

Hey, the video is great except I’m getting no audio when burning the dvd. Does it matter the format I downloaded it in perhaps? Any help would be nice. Thanks

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

if it’s on the movie itself then no. you need to download another copy without it

  • Posted by Earth760 On February 11, 2010

I’m using IDVD, when I burn a movie onto a DVD and watch it on my DVD player, a copyright notice comes up 4 times during the movie, is their a way to remove the copyright infringement disclaimer?

  • Posted by mybigleftnut90 On February 11, 2010

it either means that you put too many things on it or the dvd is too long to burn. if it’s the latter then you need to burn the movie on another program.

I ‘m @ the very end, but it won’t allow me to burn unto DVD, I’m getting this message “your project exceeds maximum content duration. To burn this project, remove some content”
